Getting started

This is my very first Substack post. It is just a test. I am the only subscriber. My name is Ross Taylor. I have been writing quiz questions for the last three years. I got started on Wiki Quiz, where I believe I have posted more questions than anyone else during that period. My total must be in excess of 20,000. Aside from that I have been contributing questions to a regular Wednesday night Zoom quiz.

I enjoy writing questions. I like doing the research and I like watching people work out the clues that I have woven in.

In 2025, in order to raise money for charity, I am going to post at least 10 questions per day here.

I am going to ask people to throw a couple of quid into my Just Giving page if they can. Come September (or thereabouts) I will do the Glasgow Kiltwalk, where (usually) the Scottish businessman Tom Hunter, doubles all donations. Therefore if I aim to raise £500 via question writing, I should be able to hand over £1000 to charity after the Kiltwalk.
